Walter F. Parkes, also known as Walter Parkes, is an American producer, screenwriter, media executive, and actor. As a producer, he often collaborates with his wife Laurie MacDonald. The two helped found Dreamworks SKG, and later worked at Amblin Entertainment. He is also the co-founder and co-chairman of entertainment and technology company Dreamscape Immersive. He co-wrote the films WarGames and Sneakers. He also co-created the shows Eddie Dodd and Birdland, and co-developed the show The Slap; he also wrote for the latter two shows.

Walter is the son of Gloria and Frank Fishman, one of the original developers of Las Vegas. His stepfather, Milton Gunzburg, was a journalist and screenwriter, who developed the Natural Vision stereoscopic 3-D system.

Walter and Laurie have two children.

Walter’s maternal grandfather was Nickolas/Nicholas “Nick” Margaretich/Miller (the son of George Margaretich and Caroline Petrovich). Nickolas was born in Austria/Yugoslavia.

Walter’s maternal grandmother was Mayra/Myra/Mira Destefani/Sestefani (the daughter of Murko Destefani and Lucia Sakcevick). Mayra was born in Austria/Yugoslavia.
