Accident that killed Hazel Green resident Kristin E. Masterski occurred on Eakins Rd., about four miles north of Huntsville, as reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The 2021 Ford Explorer driven by Masterski collided head-on with the 2014 Hino truck operated by Harvest’s Robert Jackson. Death was officially confirmed for Masterski there.
Hazel Green resident Kristin E. Masterski was killed in a car accident on Monday morning, four miles north of Huntsville, per ALEA. Accidents are common on Moores Mill and our other routes, Fitzgerald added. We have extremely curved roads that wind around like this, terrible roundabouts, and people are developing right next to them. It’s completely disgusting how many lives are being lost on Moores Mill.
Fitzgerald added that the repercussions of this tragedy would be felt throughout the neighborhood.
As everyone in Moores Mill can attest, today is a very trying one. Around here, we keep to ourselves a lot. “We’re not a company,” Fitzgerald explained. Any passing is tragic, but many will find this one especially so. Too many people are dying on Moores Mill, and that can’t continue.
Masterski worked as a social worker for the Hazel Green Family Schools, per the Madison County Schools System. What follows is the official statement the system issued after the crash.
Robert Jackson, of Harvest, was driving a 2014 Hino when he was broadsided by Masterski’s 2021 Ford Explorer. On the spot, Masterski was ruled dead.
Moores Mill Fire & Rescue’s Ethan Fitzgerald notes that accidents are prevalent on this road.
Mrs. Masterski was a fantastic worker who always jumped at the chance to assist others. She cared deeply about her pupils and their families and will be sorely missed by many.
