A Queensland man is facing a murder charge after he was allegedly found at the scene of a suspicious death near Hervey Bay airport on Monday.
Police said they were called to a business complex at Urangan at 8am and found the body of a 62-year-old man who had suffered head injuries.
A Urangan man, 57-year-old Brett Gordon Williams, was allegedly located at the scene and arrested and charged with murder.
The Fraser Coast Chronicle reported that Mr Williams owned the complex on Victory East St where the body was said to have been found.
He was due to face the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
The Chronicle also said the 62-year-old was a tenant of the Victory East St complex and ran a local gas supply company.
Hervey Bay police were on Monday night guarding the crime scene and have appealed to witnesses who may have seen a white 2020 Toyota LandCruiser Prado in the area between 6am and 8am on Monday morning.
Drivers with dashcam footage of the vehicle travelling from the Hervey Bay industrial area near the airport down Booral Rd and onto Elizabeth St towards Esplanade at Urangan are asked to come forward.
The car may also have stopped at the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens on Elizabeth St.
