Perhaps Avicii does want you to wake him up when it’s all over after being hospitalized with gall bladder issues in Miami late last week. The Swedish DJ, who has had a meteoric rise to fame this year because of his hit song ‘Wake Me Up’ featuring Aloe Blacc, should not be out of action to long.

According to The Huffington Post,  Avicii began experiencing severe stomach pains, nausea and a fever and had to cancel all his activities around the Ultra Music Festival, including his headlining Saturday night set. Deadmau5 stepped in for the ailing DJ for one of the biggest electronic dance music festivals in the country. After being checked in the hospital, Avicii was informed that he will have his gall bladder removed on Saturday.

Avicii informed his fans of the news much to their disappointment, but said he received a ton of support and concern for his health issues. He released a statement this weekend thanking everyone for their concern saying “it means a lot to me!”. He also said that he expects to be fully recovered by his US tour next month.

Glad to hear Avicii is going to be OK. For those of you who missed him in Miami he’ll be at various locations around the country shortly!
